Car culture takes over Santa Maria this weekend — the West Coast Kustoms 45th Cruisin' Nationals brings three days of pre-1965 custom cars, hot rods, and swap meets to the Fairpark. Up the coast, Cambria hosts its Sea Faire artisan festival, the Cambria Center for the Arts opens "Next to Normal," and Morro Bay's Art in the Park fills Memorial Day weekend with fine art along the waterfront.

The SLO Blues collegiate baseball team opens their season at Sinsheimer Stadium. In Lompoc, there's a free zine-making workshop at Cypress Gallery and an open house at the Cabrillo High School Aquarium — one of the only high school aquariums in the country.
